Interview with Ariel Okin, Interior Designer

Ariel Okin is the founder of her eponymous design firm, Ariel Okin Interiors, a New York based, full-service interior design company specializing in luxury residential, commercial, and hospitality projects across the country. We had the pleasure of speaking with her about design, style, and what she can't live without.  Please read below to find out more about Ariel.

What are three things you can’t live without?

My husband, kids, and mom. 

What’s your favorite time of day?

10 AM – the day is full of promise but you're not tired anymore (I am *not* a morning person!)

Favorite beach?

Any beach is my happy place! But I do really love Coopers and Little Plains. 

Favorite pool?

Every image in Slim Aarons: Poolside

Dream country to visit?

Really itching to do a design trip to the Nordic countries. Also the castles in Ireland. 

Most adventurous thing you’ve done in your life?

Quitting my job to become an interior designer after getting my master's in strategic comms/public affairs! ;)

Vintage or new?

Vintage always.

Tie between the classic Lady Bag in camel leather and the Gardner tote. 

*Bonus Question: When designing a room what is the most important factor for you?

Comfort! I really want my clients to feel at ease in their homes, and that there's a thoughtful place for everything.
